This image should have been posted on Tues., Dec. 22nd. I took this image at Rankin School about a month ago. This is not the native American species. There are 400 - 600 species in this genus. The berries are red but the leaf shape is oval.or with less notches than the native holly. In order to produce berries you need a male and female shrub. Holly Berries with Snow & Ice
Today's photo was taken later in the afternoon after our snow last Thurs. Not many branches on the Ilex (not a native holly culivar) had snow still remaining. Minor editing with native camera app. Vignette applied in PSE 11. If it snows again maybe I can try for a macro shot with my Ollie Clip 4 in 1 macro lens.
