This is the door to the blacksmith cabin at the HP Museum that I posted a few days ago. I tried to make the lock centered because I was aiming for symmetry with the diagonal lines. The left image is in color and I did increase the shadows and mid-tones, sharpend in PSE 11.Then, for the right image I changed to "old fashioned" look by choosing tone and hue to give a sepia old wood look.

Log Cabin End of Log.Support - High Point Museum, NC (B &W, Sepia).
When I was at the Highpoint Museum I was looking for texture of the woodused to make the log cabins. I forget when this cabin was built. The image was originally taken in color, but decided to use some filters. I edited lightness/darkness sliders and sharpened in PSE 11 using Old Fashion Photo B& W Urban filter which was more the color I saw since wood had weathered, but I wanted to try another filter to make a sepia tone. For the imageon the left I also rotated 270 degrees to right to get horizontal image. I pushed the sharpness to the max which I thought defined the lines better.
From Rob Depaolo, (an iPhone Editing Academy Webinar) I learned yesterday (6/6/2015) there are specific apps for the iPhone that you can shot in B & W and see what the image looks like instead of converting from color. However, the downside is the photo can never be color unless you alter artistically. Three to try: Provoke, Lenke, Hueless and maybe Hipstamatic which I think was offering an infrared filter pak, Oggle which has lots of variations of grains.

Tree Bramches with Photographer Silhouette
Tried to take tree branch silhouette but captured myself in the foreground. Do not know why there is texture artifacts on the tree trnks and the photographer image. I did not like the scene which was taken in color. Converted to sepia under old time filter in PSE 11. Unfortunately there is a white line across the top 1/3 of the photo that is the curb The leaves of this maple tree just starting to leaf out. Could use in an art journaling page with other photo related images. Tuesday, March 31, 2015
Vintage Birdhouse on a Backyard Fence - Non-functional

These birdhouses are also not functional and hanging on my friend's wooden fence. Maybe I need to invest in a stuffed bird that really looks real for a prop. With an iPhone unless you are close and can anticipate the pose, forget getting bird pictures. If you crop a photo taken at a distance it will be pixelated. You might be able to use for some altered art project. I took in color but I played around with light and dark exposures and used sepia filter for one. I like the vintage look. Because of small sensor there is some distortion with the planks of the wooden fence in the background. There is supposed to be an app that will help correct disotortion of buildings etc. Monday, January 12, 2015
Vines in winter - sepia tone
Saw these vines on a building behind the public parking lot below the RR tracks off S. Elm St., Greensboro, NC. Taken with native iPhone Camera but processed in camera with Camera Plus app. It would be interesting to take again in summer when it has green foliage and again in fall when maybe there would be colored leaves. .
